NICK CARTER – CeMAP
Protection Specialist
I am a former qualified PGA golf professional and became a mortgage and protection adviser in 2006. I worked for an independent financial advice practice, mainly specialising in Shared Ownership and Help To Buy mortgages, where most of my clients were keyworkers and first-time buyers. I went on to work for Lloyds Bank in 2010 in Kensington and Victoria as a mortgage and protection adviser. I later worked for Goodfellows estate agents in the same role, so I have a lot of experience working in different environments.
I find it very fulfilling helping people choose the right type of protection for them so that they can ensure their loved ones are protected in the event of the worst happening. It’s a good feeling to know you’ve helped put people’s minds at rest so that they no longer have to worry.
When I’m not working, I enjoy keeping up to date with industry news, and still spend much of my spare time on the golf course offering tips to new golfers to help them improve. I also sometimes play five-a-side football with friends to keep fit, but my wife thinks I’m getting too old for that. She may be right!
Random fact about me: I qualified for the final of the PGA Open Golf Championship in 2004.
